Calendar Alert: Alyssa Graham Performing Oct. 17 At Philadelphia Museum Of Art
Vocalist Alyssa Graham will grace Philadelphia with two sets at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Friday, October 17 as part of the "Art After 5" series. 'Echo,' her critically acclaimed sophomore CD, is out now on Sunnyside Records.
The museum's Great Stair Hall, transformed into an intimate cabaret, will be an elegantly suitable setting for the "honey-voiced" (Washington Post) singer, whose music has been inspired by her travels throughout Brazil, India, Africa and Europe and will "echo" through the halls of great masterworks from around the world.
From lush jazz-pop songs like "Pictures of You," to "Involved Again," a previously unrecorded gem originally written some 50 years ago for jazz legend
Billie Holiday, 'Echo' proves Alyssa Graham to be a "sumptuous" (New York Times)
singer of remarkable talent and range.
Jazztimes calls 'Echo' "Stunning..." and raves that it's "one of those rare hybrids whose jazz, pop and folk-rock roots, when entwined, equal far more than the sum of their parts."
"Art After 5" is free after Museum admission. Alyssa will also be performing on "Better Philly" October 15th at 8 a.m. on channel 17.
